Wasn't there an interim market on 104th in the time the farmers marked had moved away? If my memory doesn't betray me... How did that one fit in?

You bring up a very good point my friend! I just couldn't even start to write about that in the article. Basic premise - when YEGDT market was moved, the DBA and other downtown associations contracted Wildheart/The Public to activate a market on 104th street. The thought was because they also run the 124th street Grand Market they would be able to run the 104th street market, but nope! The first year they had on average about 20 vendors each week but after that first year it was nothing to write about. Last year they had 10 vendors! A couple of alcohol, one coffee company that was there for pathetic reasons, and a couple of vintage sellers. So not an actual farmers market much less a market. They have been replaced and now Foundry Events will be putting on the farmers market.

I am interested to see how this all plays out - I've heard over and over again from people that live on the street and the businesses there, they want a market back and they want it to be a big market again. Fingers crossed!

Yeah, we lived on 104th for a while and super missed the market once it was gone. The interim one was... a bit sad in comparison, even in the first year. I hope it goes back to what it was before!
